Andy Mackie probably shouldn't be alive. At 60, he had been through nine different heart surgeries. And he refused to take any medication his doctors prescribe. But you'd be hard-pressed to find a happier man. He decided to spend his final days sharing his secret.

He bought hundreds of harmonicas and handed them out to local children. Then he gave free music lessons.

That was 11 years ago. He's donated more than 16,000 harmonicas to date. And he builds or buys other instruments for kids who show interest.

He's brought music to an entire generation of children. And he shows no signs of stopping.Andy stopped his prescriptions and used the money to spread the joy of music to kids.
